Early in February the President and Immediate Past President attended a meeting in London of the Six-O group, a twice-yearly get-together of the six leading women’s organisations in the UK: the British Federation of Women Graduates; Business and Professional Women UK; the National Federation of Women’s Institutes; the Soroptomists and Townswomen’s Guilds, along with NCW. As always at these meetings, although there are differences of size, of organisation and to some extent of membership, we discover how much we have in common. In so many areas we are pursuing the same objectives, by similar methods. More and more we have come to see the potential for joint action, and are gradually working towards joint ventures, using the weight of our combined efforts to present powerful arguments to government and to work for social betterment.
