The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, perturbed by the rejection in the House of Lords of Bills to amend the Street Offences Act 1959, urges Her Majesty’s Government to introduce amending legislation:
(a) to delete the term “common prostitute” and substitute “any person” so as to make the law equally applicable to men and women; and
(b) to include a clause to make “kerb crawling” a street offence, so that the police may be enabled to deal with this squalid and dangerous practice. Reaffirmed 1983
