Our Conference is an important forum for NCW members to meet together to discuss, debate and agree NCW policy.
On Friday afternoon members of NCW together with NCYW members from local schools meet to discuss issues which concern them.
Saturday morning will be devoted to debate of resolutions submitted by both NCW members and Affiliated Societies. Subjects include:
- Treatment of Women Asylum Seeks in Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre
- Addressing the Needs of Children in Care and Keeping Them out of Trouble
- Removal of VAT on Sanitary Products
- Adult Social Care Provision: the need for the recommendations of the Cavendish Report to be made compulsory
At the Grace Wedekind Memorial Seminar in the afternoon a panel of both male and female speakers will discuss Gender Equality.
The AGM takes place on Sunday morning when resolutions will be ratified. Conference ends with an update on the post-2015 sustainable development agenda and CEDAW (The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women).
