The National Council of Women, concerned that current legislation and Care Standards are manifestly failing to safeguard children from cruelty, abuse, and neglect, and mindful of the UK’s commitment to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, urges HMG to give serious consideration to the appointment of an independent Children‘s Commissioner to listen to and address injustices to all children across the country.
