Acid rain, 1985

Submitted by: Reading Branch & the Scientific Development Special Committee

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, concerned about the quality of the environment and the dangers of pollution from ‘Acid Rain’, urges Her Majesty’s Government to reconsider its attitude to this problem, to encourage the collaboration of scientists, with the aim of improving and expediting research and, wherever possible, to take measures which will reduce the emission of substances already widely accepted as damaging.  Held in abeyance as from the Annual General Meeting in 1988
