Women in Science and Technology, 1957

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled welcomes the measures taken by Her Majesty’s Government and by the Founders of the Churchill College, Cambridge to meet the urgent need for an increased supply of qualified mathematicians and scientists.  Aware that the subject of the training of scientists is at present under review, the National Council of Women urges Her Majesty’s Government, in consultation with Local Education Authorities, the Universities and Industry, to increase and improve hitherto insufficient facilities for the training of women and girls in Mathematics and Science and to organize full utilization of their skilled services.
