Folic acid fortification of flour, 1998

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled (a) aware that most neural tube defects could be prevented by increasing folic acid levels in the population, (b) urges HM Government to take an initiative to fortify flour with folic acid so that all women could consume enough extra folic acid daily to prevent spina bifida and other neural tube defects.
