NCW in Conference assembled, aware of the increasing destruction of the World’s natural forests due mainly to the demand for wood and wood products, aware also that this destruction means the loss of wildlife on a vast scale and accelerates climate change, calls upon HMG to: (a) discourage the use of tropical hardwoods; and (b) take a lead in changing public attitudes to the use of wood and wood products, including paper and packaging.
