The National Council of Women in conference assembled, concerned at the shortage of organs for transplantation, calls upon HM Government to: (a) make available, on a 24-hour basis, a national database on which individuals would be able to register their personal wishes concerning organ donation; (b) as a necessary supplement to this database, set up a voluntary procedure in hospital whereby the relatives of a possible donor be consulted.
