The treatment of young offenders in the criminal justice and public order bill 1994, 1994

The National Council of Women in conference assembled deplores the provision in the Criminal Justice and Public Order Bill 1994 for the building of five new secure training units within the prison system, at a stated cost of £30 million, for young offenders aged 12, 13 and 14 years, calls upon HM Government to re-allocate the necessary funds for the provision of sufficient alternative and appropriate secure places to meet the need.
