Railway transport, 1992

Submitted by: Berkhamstead Branch and Transport Permanent Working Party

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, calls upon Her Majesty’s Government to retain overall responsibility for the expansion and development of British railway services (both passenger and freight) as an environmentally necessary alternative to increased reliance on road transport with its heavy cost in terms of road-building, road accidents and air pollution.

Reaffirmed 1994
