The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, calls on Her Majesty’s Government to halt the proposed innovatory legislation contained in the Matrimonial and Family Proceeding Bill Parts 1 & 2, pending publication of reliable, factual information, based on official research now in progress and further to set up a Royal Commission on Marriage and Divorce to enquire into and make recommendations on the ethical, social and economic implications of changes in the divorce law.
