Arms control, 1982

Submitted by: International Special Committee

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, concerned about the build-up of nuclear arms and believing that no amount of resources spent on Civil Defence measures can give real protection of life or civilized values in the event of nuclear warfare, urges HM Government to take the strongest possible initiative at the forthcoming second UN Special Session on Disarmament in June 1982, with the aim of controlling and reducing armaments on a multi-lateral basis under strict international supervision.
