The National Council of Women of Great Britain in Conference assembled, deeply concerned by the shortage of Home Helps in many areas with the resultant curtailment of the service, urges Local Authorities to encouarge recruitment by:

1. Promoting a campaign to enhance the status of the Home Help Service.

2. Increasing the wages paid so that they compare favourably with those paid locally for similar work.

3. Examining the possibilities of creating a register of retired men to supplement the Home Help Service
