Outgoing President Jilly Rogers, in her Director’s Report, shared her thoughts on our work with young women throughout the last year –
Our intergenerational work has long been a highlight of our structure and this year we’ve pushed forward on this with a very successful event to celebrate disadvantaged voices, held in London and attracting excellent speakers and very engaged delegates.
We recently launched a project in Nottingham to bring together schools and voluntary groups to support young women to develop
their skills and understanding to take an active part in society and build an interest in community advocacy. We have high hopes of how this will develop.
Our younger members have also led to way in championing the cause of non-fatal strangulation. There has been much in the press about this topic and our young women were at the forefront of bringing it to wide attention and pressed for meetings with the Institute for Addressing Strangulation to make sure that the profile of this issue remained high.
