What an exciting NCWGB event on climate change on Tuesday.
Chris Radojewski inspired us all with NESO – energy’s ambitions for carbon reduction. Obviously including renewables, but Chris also said the best unit of electricity is the one not used so we all need to cut down and do our bit. Every effort by every person and every country helps reduce the temperature climb.
Louise Baxter NCWGB, alerted us to the risks of scams in an unfamiliar market.
Professor Sigrun Wagner explained how we can build our expertise to overcome such problems – citing carbon literacy training for organisations and businesses. We talked about what we can do as individuals from green energy to reducing food waste.
Ann Davison, our President, stressed the importance of our campaigning internationally with the members of the International Council of Women and at the Commission on the Status of Women to get more action globally.
A huge thank you to our brilliant speakers, and further thanks to Gillie O’Rourke, President of Soroptimists, for chairing the Q and A, and to Sudha Singh, British Federation of Graduate Women, for summarising the key take-aways.
