Jasmina Jankowska from National Council of Women GB’s 18-30 network and Ann Davison, President, met with Commonwealth Parliamentarians and civil society organisations on Tuesday at Australia House to discuss cooperation. NCWGB is looking to strengthen the Commonwealth Women’s Network in its work to gain more global protections from online harms and to reduce climate change.
The Commonwealth works to protect human rights such as equality for women and to support sustainable development. We discussed its role in promoting democracy and humanitarian values. We also highlighted that the Commonwealth should strongly take up the case for protection from online harms, which besides misogyny, include disinformation and algorithms which encourage division.
