National Council of Women GB’s interdisciplinary study group on digital safety brings women together to achieve a safer online environment, chaired by Professor Shweta Singh. We have already helped win a government promise to Raise the Age for harmful social media.
We are now working to influence government to enact safety by design for AI and digital platforms and detail the needed protection from AI image based abuse. Our international links mean we have extended this campaign to the Commonwealth.
The International Council of Women will hold its annual conference in London in November. The study group is preparing to lead their break out groups on digital safety and drafting briefing materials. We will then produce international action plans so that together we can all put pressure on our respective governments for a safer online environment.
