It was a great honour for NCWGB to welcome our friend and role model, Jess Asato MP, to speak at our international conference on Monday. Digital safety is a major priority for NCWGB, and the International Council of Women, aswell for Jess Asato, and she spoke very eloquently on this.
Members discussed the progress already made in the UK such as the online safety act, the banning of strangulation in pornography and raising the age at which tech companies can reach youngsters with harmful social media. NCWGB undertook to share information with other members of ICW.
Next steps include more protection from deep fakes and putting online pornography under the same rules as offline. NCWGB is calling for overall safety by design legislation for tech including AI.
