Barbara is a 91-year-old former headteacher from Bulwell who since her retirement has been incredibly active with NCWGB, campaigning for the rights of women and girls.

She created the National Council of Young Women branch of our organisation which reaches out to the younger generations through a network of schools and colleges. Through organising and taking part in debates and seminars in school and dealing with issues relevant not just to women but to society as a whole, Barbara has encouraged young women to develop social awareness and personal confidence.
