The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, concerned about the small amount of supervision which the Social Services Departments are able to give to privately placed foster children, urges Her Majesty’s Government to introduce legislation to make it illegal for a private individual to place an advertisement seeking a foster home for a child and that such advertisements should only be placed by local authorities or approved voluntary agencies.
