The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, recognizing that early remedial measures are desirable for most forms of mental handicap, deplores the lack of advice given to mothers of newly-born and infant mentally handicapped children and urges Her Majesty’s Government to ensure that adequate up-to-date printed information about all forms of help is readily available to General Practitioners, at Maternity Units and all Local Authority Infant Welfare Clinics.
