Anonymity in procedures relating to sexual harassment at work, 1992

Submitted by: The Status and Employment of Women Special Committee

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, aware of the distress occasioned to all parties and witnesses in hearings relating to sexual harassment before Industrial Tribunals, Employment Appeal Tribunals and Higher Courts, calls upon Her Majesty’s Government to implement legislation to provide that such hearings are either held ‘in camera’ or that such reporting restrictions are made so as to ensure that the individual persons cannot be identified.
