The National Council of Women in Conference assembled: (a) recognising that anti-personnel landmines remain a danger long after conflicts are over, and prevent refugees from returning home; (b) welcomes HM Government’s moratorium on the export of conventional anti-personnel landmines (July 1994); and (c) calls upon HM Government to work towards a world-wide ban on the production, stock-piling, export and use of anti-personnel landmines including the new  “˜smart’ landmines hitherto excluded from the moratorium.
