The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, concerned by the continuing number of deaths from cervical cancer despite the screening programme, urges the Minister of State for Health to change the Department’s regulations and to make adequate funds available in order to improve the efficacy of the programme by: (a) increased national publicity; (b) improved record, notification and recall system; and (c) regular screening at three yearly intervals for all women over the age of 20 years.
