The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, urges Her Majesty’s Government to recognise the need for a coherent, comprehensive, national policy for childcare provision for all children up to the age of 14, relating the provision to the policies for Equal Opportunities. Initially, we ask for the modest target of the establishment by 1993 of 240,000 nursery places.
