The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, urges the Department of Energy, British Standard Institute, manufacturers and all concerned to: a. give priority to making the consumer conscious of the need for considering energy consumption in addition to cost when deciding on domestic equipment; b. consider methods of making information on energy consumption of any appliances more easily available to the consumer at the point of sale.
