Defeating deafness, 2000

The National Council of Women (a) concerned that fewer than half of hearing-impaired babies are diagnosed by 18 months of age, (b) aware of and welcoming the Government’s decision to conduct Universal Neonatal Hearing Screening by means of Otoacoustic Emissions testing in twenty areas of England, (c) believes it vital that the Government implement nationwide neonatal screening without delay.
