The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, concerned at the threat to family relationships in local communities in the inner cities and in rural areas consequent on the closure of local schools and hospitals and the cutting down of public transport facilities, calls on the Departments of Education, Health and the Environment and Local Authorities to give weight to the social damage factor when considering plans for action of this nature.
