The National Council of Women, concerned that early pain experience could have adverse long-term effects on physiological development and behaviour, calls upon HM Government to adopt the recommendations of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for more funded research into pain relief to reduce preventable pre-born suffering.
