The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, urges Her Majesty’s Government to give more positive encouragement for the conveyance of heavy goods by rail rather than by road, in the interests of road safety, and where this is impossible, to encourage the Police to enforce more strictly the present regulations governing speed limits and standards of driving.   Reaffirmed 1990
