Hostels for working girls, 1963

Submitted by: Federation of Community for the Moral Welfare of Children

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, being concerned at the desperate need in large cities for more hostels for working girls between the ages of 16 and 18 who are unable to live at home, urges the Local Authorities and appropriate voluntary organisations to make more strenuous efforts to meet this need. The National Council of Women also urges the Minister of Health to provide hostels where young mothers may be housed with their babies.
