NCW in Conference assembled, (a) recognising the importance to the community of local independently owned pharmacies, and mindful of closures that have taken place in recent years, (b) aware of the potential for the development of a greater clinical role for the pharmacist with the emerging shift to a primary care led service, (c) urges HMG to recognise the valuable community service that these outlets provide and to seek to ensure the continuation of those already existing, and the establishment of others where they are currently not available.
