Insurance of married women not gainfully employed, 1968

Submitted by: Epsom and District Branch and Richmond-upon-Thames Branch

The National Council of Women of Great Britain in Conference assembled, urges Her Majesty’s Government that in the new comprehensive scheme for Social Insurance the married woman not gainfully employed should become an insured person by virtue of her occupation. Such insurance, originally recommended in the Beveridge Report on Social Insurance and Allied Service, November 1942, Cmd.6404, should cover her special risks including disablement, widowhood, desertion, separation and divorce.
