The National Council of Women is concerned that the threshold figure to which a surviving spouse is entitled in the event of a spouse dying intestate leaving issue can give rise to great hardship, calls upon Her Majesty’s Government to increase the figure, last revised in 1993, to £200,000 and for there to be annual increases thereafter based on the Retail Price Index.
