Nutritional education, 1997

Submitted by: Great Ayton Branch

NCW in Conference assembled, believing that many of the problems associated with poor nutrition can be addressed through education, calls on HMG to stress the importance of Food Technology in schools, in order to: (a) teach both the theory of nutrition and the practices of food preparation and cooking; (b) ensure that young people will be able to make informed judgements about the purchase of good ingredients; and (c) create an understanding of the importance of this for their health and the consequent benefit to future generations.   Reaffirmed 2004
