The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, greatly concerned at the harm done to our environment by ill usage and the possible ecological imbalance caused by the various kinds of pollution, urges Her Majesty’s Government:–
(a) to require that conservation and a balance of the environment should be a major consideration in planning the use of land;
(b) to encourage the study of conservation and ecology;
(c) to consider very carefully the long-term effects of technological and scientific discoveries before use is made of the new knowledge. Reaffirmed 1980 and 1994
