Religious Freedom, 1949

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, believing that religious freedom is the guardian of all true freedom, deplores the persecution of leaders of the Christian and other religious bodies, and the denial of rights of assembly, property and education to their followers. It calls upon Her Majesty’s Government to request the United Nations to urge every nation which has accepted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms to implementation of the Declaration in the policy of their respective states.
