The National Council of Women, whilst welcoming the enactment of the Adoption (Inter-country Aspects) Act 1999 and acknowledging government initiatives to improve adoption procedures nationally, urges that further attention be given to legislation to enforce compliance with the Children’s Act and to reducing delay and uncertainty for parents and children involved.
