The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, urges Her Majesty’s Government in considering the recommend actions of the criminal Law Revision Committee on Rules of Evidence to safeguard the rights of the individual by: (a) retaining the Police caution in its present form; (b) preserving the right of silence of any person charged with an offence; (c) ensuring the retention of the right of a person taken to a Police Station in connection with an offence to consult a solicitor.
