The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, concerned about the problems encountered by children with Special Educational Needs, urges HM Government to take steps to: (a) work towards a national standard of services, in order to reduce the variation in quantity and quality of those provided by different LEAs across the country; (b) make statements of SEN nationally binding and fully portable so that children moving with their families suffer minimum disruption to their education; and (c) ensure that SEN provision continues to be needs led.
