The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, welcomes the emphasis that the James Report on Teacher Education and Training places on the importance of in-service education for teachers throughout their careers and asks the Secretary of State for Education and Science to ensure that, whatever decisions are made about the other section of the Report, provision should be made immediately for generous opportunities for in-service education and training for serving teachers.
