The National Council of Women in Conference assembled welcomes the Government’s prominent role in the Earth Summit at Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 and the adoption of Agenda 21 action plan on environment and development issues, believes that the world’s environmental problems strike at the basic survival of the globe and of the human race, and calls upon Her Majesty’s Government to give a positive lead, through Parliament and the media, to every man, woman and child, in order to raise awareness of the vital necessity for the preservation and the improvement of each individual’s and therefore the world’s environment.
