The National Council of Women of Great Britain, in Conference assembled, notes with concern the increasing number of people who have been caught in the “Poverty Trap” whereby a slightly increased income can result in financial disadvantage to those otherwise eligible for multiple benefits. The Council therefore urges HM Government to take positive steps to reduce the effect of this on people with low incomes.
