Training of mature social workers, 1977

Submitted by: Conservative Women’s National Advisory Commission

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, aware of the growing need for the more mature social worker in the field, calls on the Government to provide more training courses to suit the needs of the mature man or woman whose experience in life is already part qualification, but who has had no previous training in social Work. The Council also recommends the provision of short refresher/qualifying courses to encourage the return to social work of those whose careers have been interrupted by family responsibilities.
