The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, concerned at the ever-rising incidence of offences against the person and against property, urges HM Government to: a. increase the Police Force, by improving their conditions of employment; and b. allow the courts greater discretion in sentencing e.g. by amending the Criminal Justice Act 1961, Section 3 (1).
