Vocational training etc. For mentally ill and handicapped, 1966

Submitted by: The Society for Autistic Children

The National Council of Women of Great Britain in a Conference assembled urges the Department of Education and Science and the Ministries of Health and Labour to co-operate in increasing as rapidly as possible the provision of education and vocational training for young people of school-leaving age who are mentally ill and handicapped, making such training available to the age of 25, and in extending the development of sheltered workshops for adults who, temporarily or permanently, cannot enter the open labour market.
