Widows’ children (statutory provision), 1975

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled, urges Her Majesty’s Government to reconsider the Act relating to the widowed mother with children who marries again; that she shall continue to receive her widowed mother’s allowance for her own children (this being derived from their father’s contributions) until such time as they reach the age of majority, as is the practice in other countries such as Austria, Canada, West Germany and Japan.
