Working Mothers, 1965

Submitted by: Committee of Management

The National Council of Women in Conference assembled considers that, as the country needs the work of many mothers outside their homes, it is essential that there should be adequate facilities for help with the care of their children. The National Council of Women of Great Britain therefore urges Her Majesty’s Government to adopt a unified central policy to include an adequate supply of day nurseries, nursery schools and classes, and help with the care of school children in school holidays and for an hour or two after school hours, where it is needed.
